MegaBosch
The rockstars of the apocalypse set out to bring rock music back to the wastelands…
In a world after the big bang, civilization lies in ruins. Countless things have been lost. The few survivors barely manage to scrape by in a bleak, depressing existence on the contaminated surface.
But there is still a glimmer of hope: one last rock band has risen from the dust of the old world. With devoted dedication and grand attitude, MEGABOSCH has set out to return its shining radiance to a post-apocalyptic world. Its purpose. Its immortal soul. Frenzied fans, roaring amplifiers, and thundering drums. The spirit of rock’n’roll!
MegaBosch Live
A MEGABOSCH concert is an experience: driving rock music that draws on numerous music world clichés; testosterone-fueled and intense. It is German lyrics about the excessive, unrestrained life in a postapocalyptic world—bitter but always with a wink. It is a lively atmosphere, sweating bodies, and shining eyes. Fat sound, a large dose of fun, and passionate virtuosity make MEGABOSCH distilled “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll” — exaggerated to the edge of caricature.
Wacken
In 2013, a new stage was introduced at the Wacken Open Air: The Wasteland Stage! MEGABOSCH had the honor of inaugurating this stage, built from old shipping containers and a lot of rusty steel, as the sole band. The four postapocalyptic rockers unleashed a gigantic party with lots of fire, martial warriors, and provocatively dressed dancers on the Wacken holy ground.
The show was such a success that MEGABOSCH established the Wasteland Stage as a permanent fixture at Wacken in the following years 2014 and 2015.
A live DVD shot in 2014 shows the performance on this coolest of all stages. In 2022, the rockstars of the apocalypse returned to Wacken, in 2023 they celebrated there the 10th anniversary of the Wasteland Stage and they were there again in 2024!
Background
MEGABOSCH was originally founded in 2009 as a pure fun project for a live-action role-playing game (LARP). The role-playing-enthusiast musicians remain true to this background to this day and regularly participate in various postapocalyptic LARPs not only as musicians but also as active players.
Since the settings of these events almost feel like a fully walkable film set, it’s only natural that MEGABOSCH has shot one or two music videos there by now.
Besides “normal” performances from small clubs to the Wacken Stage, MEGABOSCH can be found not only in the wasteland areas of major music festivals (like Wacken Wasteland and Reload “Sin-City”) but also entertain, along with friendly show groups, the post-apocalyptic areas of the most important German fantasy festivals like Annotopia, FaRK, or Das Große Treffen (en. “The Great Meet-Up”).
